Now they find water on Mars: Meteorites uncover ice which could point to life
By Claire Bates
27th September 2009
International space missions have found evidence of ice on Mars - a sign the planet could sustain extraterrestrial life.
Nasa said its Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter spotted ice at five new Martian craters, likely kicked up by meteor impacts.
'This ice is a relic of a more humid climate from perhaps just several thousand years ago,' said Shane Byrne of the University of Arizona. 'This is a real water resource.'
The discovery at the satellite's mid-latitudes is much further from the poles than was previously thought. This, argues a report in Scientific American, would provide supplies for colonists to use on landing.
The news comes a day after it was also revealed that large quantities of water had been found on the surface of the Moon.
It means a manned base on the Earth's satellite could now become a reality within 20 years.
The discovery increases the chances of humanity living on the lunar surface inside protective domes, mining the rocks and dust for water to drink and power spacecrafts.
The scientific discovery made by the Indian lunar mission Chandrayaan-1 was announced by Nasa today.
'Widespread water has been detected on the surface of the Moon. None of us had expected this 10 years ago,' Nasa's Carle Pieters said.
Dr Jessica Sunshine, one of the researchers who found the water, said: 'It's sort of just sticking on the surface. We always think of the Moon as dead, and this is sort of a dynamic process that's going on.'
Ten years ago, scientists found traces of water lying in the shadowy craters at the Moon's poles.
The latest announcement comes two weeks before a Nasa probe will smash near the Moon's south pole to see whether it can kick up buried ice.
The discovery, with three studies being published in the journal Science today and a Nasa briefing, could refocus interest in the moon.
The appeal of the Moon waned after astronauts visited 40 years ago and called it 'magnificent desolation'.
The discovery confirms what two other space probes have found, namely that the chemical signs of water are all over the Moon's surface.
It is not enough moisture to foster homegrown life on the Moon. But if processed in mass quantities, it might provide resources - drinking water and rocket fuel - for future Moon-dwellers, scientists say. The water comes and goes during the lunar day.
Dr Sunshine said a two litre bottle of lunar earth would only provide enough water to fill the pipette of a medicine bottle.
And Nasa's Rob Green told a press conference tonight: 'Even the driest deserts on Earth have more water than at the poles of the Moon.'
When Apollo astronauts first returned from the Moon in 1969, they brought back souvenirs in the form of rocks to be used for analysis, and one of the chief questions was if there was water in lunar rocks and soils.
However, most of the boxes containing the lunar samples leaked which led scientists to assume traces of water found came from Earth air that had entered the containers.
They assumed that, outside the possibility of ice at the poles, there was no water on the Moon. Now 40 years later, this old assumption has been overturned.
A lunar scientist familiar with the findings said: 'This is the most exciting breakthrough in at least a decade. And it will probably change the face of lunar exploration for the next decade.'
The Sun is constantly undergoing nuclear fusion and thereby emitting highly charged hydrogen protons that blast the surface of the Moon. One theory of how the water forms is that if these mixed with oxygen in the surface soil it they could create water
Amazingly, the new data also suggests that water is continously being formed on the Moon.
The Indian spacecraft was launched into orbit around the Moon in October last year. It was fitted with a Moon Mineralogy Mapper, or M3 for short, designed to search for water by picking up the electromagnetic radiation emitted by hydrogen and oxygen minerals.
How solar wind could be forming water on the Moon
Scientists believe the Sun's solar wind could be interacting with the Moon's soil to form the liquid. Nuclear reactions take place deep within the Sun due to the enormous pressure and heat generated by the star.
This creates the solar wind - a constant stream of highly charged hydrogen ions that billow outwards into our Solar System.
We are protected by the solar wind due to Earth's atmosphere, however the Moon has no such shield. This means the oxygen-rich surface is bombarded by the hydrogen ions at one-third the speed of light.
Scientists believe that when these ions hit the lunar surface with enough force, they break apart the oxygen bonds in the Moon soil.
Together they may be forming trace amounts of water, which is made up of two parts of hydrogen to one part of oxygen.
They estimate two pints of water are contained within each ton of Moon soil. The Nasa-designed machine could detect water on and a few inches below the surface of the Moon.
Scientists were looking for a signature of water in the craters near the poles, but were surprised to find evidence of water on the sunlit areas of the Moon instead.
Experts believe the water is trapped in the Moon's surface dirt and in theory can be extracted in large quantities to support life.
'It’s very satisfying. This was one of the main objectives of Chandrayaan-1, to find evidence of water on the Moon,' said Dr Mylswamy Annadurai.
The Indian Space Authority lost control of Chandrayaan-1 last month, and aborted the mission ahead of schedule.
However Nasa decided to investigate further the Chandrayaan's data and directed its Deep Impact probe to pass by the Moon on its way to a comet in June this year.
Its instruments also showed strong evidence of water over the surface of the Moon.
Their results suggest the formation of water molecules on the lunar surface is an ongoing process.
The announcement comes two weeks before a Nasa probe will be smashed near the Moon's south pole to see whether it can kick up buried ice.
Over the last decade, astronomers have found some signs of underground ice on the Moon's poles. This latest discovery is quite different. It finds unexpected and pervasive water clinging to the surface of soil, not absorbed into it.
'It is drier than any desert we have here,' Ms Sunshine said.
The water was spotted by spacecraft that either circled the Moon or flew by. All three ships used the same type of instrument that looked at the absorption of a specific wavelength of light that is the chemical signature of only two molecules: water and hydroxyl.
Hydroxyl is one atom of hydrogen with one atom of oxygen, instead of two hydrogen atoms in water.
Scientists assumed water found in Moon rock was due to contamination. Interest in the moon has waned after astronauts visited 40 years ago and called it 'magnificent desolation'
Because of the timing during the daylight when some of that wavelength disappears and some does not, it shows that both hydroxyl and water are present, Ms Sunshine said.
This light wavelength was discovered first by an instrument on the Indian lunar satellite Chandrayaan-1, which stopped operating last month.
Scientists initially figured something was wrong with the instrument because everyone knew the Moon did not have a drop of water on the surface, Pieters said.
'We argued literally for months amongst ourselves to find out where the problem was," Pieters said. Sunshine, who was on the team, had a similar instrument on Nasa's Deep Impact probe, headed for a comet but swinging by the Moon in June. So Deep Impact looked for the water-hydroxyl signature, and found it.
Scientists also looked back at the records of Nasa's Cassini probe, which is circling Saturn. It has the same type instrument and whizzed by the Moon ten years ago. Sure enough, it had found the same thing.
The chance that three different instruments malfunctioned in the same way on three different spaceships is almost zero, so this confirms that it is water and hydroxyl, Pieters said.
'There's just no question that it's there,' Pieters said. 'It's unequivocal.'
Scientists testing lunar samples returned to Earth by astronauts did find traces of water, but they had figured it was contamination from moisture in Earth air, Pieters said.
Three scientists who were not part of the team of discoverers said the conclusion makes sense, with Arizona State University's Ron Greeley using the same word as Pieters: unequivocal.
Lunar and Planetary Institute senior scientist Paul Spudis called it exciting and said it raises the logical question: Where did that water come from?
Pieters figures there are three possibilities: It came from comets or asteroids that crashed into the Moon, those crashes freed up trapped water from below the surface, or the solar wind carries hydrogen atoms that binds with oxygen in the earth.
That final possibility is the one that Sunshine and Pieters both prefer.
If it is the solar wind, that also means that other places without atmosphere in Earth's solar system, such as Mercury or asteroids, can also have bits of water, Sunshine said.
Nasa's Lunar Prospector probe in the 1990s saw a strong hydrogen signal in the far north and south. Some scientists on the mission suggested there could be up to 300 million tonnes of water-ice buried in crater soils that never see sunlight.

The Galaxy Dress embroidered with 24,000 LEDs
The Galaxy Dress embroidered with 24,000 LEDs that is guaranteed to light up any room

The Galaxy Dress is the largest wearable display in the world and was created by designers Francesca Rosella and Ryan Genz from the London-based fashion company CuteCircuit.
They created the iridescent dress for the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago after they were commissioned to design a special garment 'to represent innovation in the field of fashion.'

(Also see YouTube video)
To make a show-stopping but practical gown the duo used the smallest full-colour LEDs available. These are flat like paper and measure only 2mm in length.
The circuits are extra-thin and flexible and were hand-embroidered on to a layer of silk in a way to give it stretch.
'The LED fabric moves with the lightness and fluidity of normal fabric,' Ms Rosella told the MailOnline.
'Four layers of silk chiffon are used to diffuse the light and move really beautifully as well.'
She added: 'The heaviest part of the dress is not the technology but the 40-layer pleated silk crinoline that makes the skirt wide.'
Fashionistas shouldn't become too toasty inside the light-weight gown as the designers said the dress would not overheat due to the LED technology.
The LED bulbs also consume little electricity so can be powered by a number of small iPod batteries placed inside the crinoline skirt.
The Galaxy dress glows for around 30minutes before it needs recharging, but should look good even when it has powered down.
'The areas without LEDs are decorated with more than 4,000 swarovski crystals - from clear crystal to bright pink,' said Ms Rosella.
'So the dress looks good even when it is switched off.'
The designer said the fabric could be potentially be used for advertising but said: 'At CuteCircuit we believe that real personal expression is the key aspect of interactive clothing.
'Human connectedness and sharing of experiences is more valuable to the wearer than a scrolling advert.'
CuteCircuit are no strangers to hi-tech fashion. In 2006 their 'Hug Shirt' was named one of the Best Inventions of the Year by Time Magazine. It works by sending hugs over distances using sensors embedded in the shirt that recreate the sensations of touch, skin warmth and heartbeat rate of the sender.
The designers remain tight-lipped about when the Galaxy Dress may hit the catwalk, but are launching a preview of their 2010 collection next week.
'It will definitely add sparkle to fashion forward wardrobes,' Ms Rosella promised.

Insects may have consciousness
Insects may have consciousness and could even be able to count, claim experts
By Daily Mail Reporter
17th November 2009
Insects with minuscule brains may be as intelligent as much bigger animals and may even have consciousness, it was claimed today.
Having a brain the size of a pinhead does not necessarily make you less bright, say researchers.
Computer simulations show that consciousness could be generated in neural circuits tiny enough to fit into an insect's brain, according to the scientists at Queen Mary, University of London and Cambridge University.

The models suggest that counting ability could be achieved with just a few hundred nerve cells, it is claimed.
And a few thousand would be sufficient to make an animal a conscious being, rather than an automated 'living robot'.
'Animals with bigger brains are not necessarily more intelligent,' said Professor Lars Chittka, from Queen Mary's Research Centre for Psychology, writing in the journal Current Biology.
'We know that body size is the single best way to predict an animal's brain size.
'However, contrary to popular belief, we can't say that brain size predicts their capacity for intelligent behaviour.
'In bigger brains we often don't find more complexity, just an endless repetition of the same neural circuits over and over.
'This might add detail to remembered images or sounds, but not add any degree of complexity. To use a computer analogy, bigger brains might in many cases be bigger hard drives, not necessarily better processors.'
Differences in brain size between animals can be extreme. A whale's brain can weigh up to nine kilograms and be packed with more than 200 billion nerve cells.
Human brains vary in weight between 1.25 kilograms and 1.45 kilograms, and have an estimated 85 billion neurons.
In contrast, a honeybee's brain weighs one milligram and contains fewer than a million nerve cells.
Many size differences existed only in specific brain regions, the scientists pointed out.
This was often the case in animals with highly developed senses, such as sight or hearing, or which have an ability to make very precise movements.
Increased size allowed the brain to function in more detail, finer resolution, and higher sensitivity or to achieve greater precision.
Research suggested that bigger animals may need larger brains simply because there was more to control. More nerves were needed to move bigger muscles, for example.
Much 'advanced' thinking could be done with very limited numbers of neurons, the scientists claimed.

Big Bang Collider Machine
'Big Bang' machine makes history by achieving first particle collisions
By Daily Mail Reporter

Proton beams have been smashed together for the first time in the 'Big Bang Machine', a development which scientists hope will help unravel the origins of the universe.
The beams were circulated in opposite directions at the same time causing the first particle collisions in the £6billion experiment after 14 months of repairs.
It is only three days since the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), situated under the Swiss-French border, was switched back on after being halted by an accident in 2008, just ten days after its first start-up.

Scientists at the European Organisation for Nuclear Research (CERN) hope experiments will start giving clues about the origins of the universe in the coming months as the world's biggest particle collider starts moving to full power.
'It's a great achievement to have come this far in so short a time,' said CERN director general Rolf Heuer about the collision. 'But we need to keep a sense of perspective - there's still much to do before we can start the LHC physics programme.'
Earlier, physicist Steve Myers said it could take until 2011 for beams of protons to hit top velocity in the experiment, which involves scientists from dozens of countries.
The key aim of the project is to try to discover how the universe took shape, after the Big Bang 13.7billion years ago spilt out matter at vast speeds and energies that eventually became suns, stars, planets and then life itself.
Physicists also hope the collider will help them see and understand other suspected phenomena, such as dark matter, antimatter and supersymmetry.

Experiments in a previous collider at the CERN research centre near Geneva at the foot of the French Jura mountains staged particle collisions producing energy very close to that of the Big Bang.
The 16-mile-long LHC operating at its full might should recreate conditions like those just one billionth of a second after the primeval explosion.
The scientists now plan to increase the beam intensity and accelerate the beams further so they can gather enough collision data by Christmas to help set up experiments.
The particle collisions - seen by massive detectors - were a side effect of the quick advances being made by the LHC during its start-up phase, which began Friday night.
Collisions were recorded in all four of the main detectors at 'experiments' in rooms the size of cathedrals about 300ft underground around the collider.
'This is great news, the start of a fantastic era of physics and hopefully discoveries after 20 years' work by the international community to build a machine and detectors of unprecedented complexity and performance,' said scientist Fabiola Gianotti.
A CERN statement said the simultaneous beams and collisions demonstrate the excellent performance of the control system.
While the initial collisions were a side effect, intentional hits could begin within the next ten days, mainly to check how the machine is working, said a CERN spokesman.
The collider was started with great fanfare Sept. 10, 2008, only to be heavily damaged by an electrical fault nine days later. It took 14 months to repair and add protection systems to the machine before it was restarted.
The protons were traveling Monday at almost the speed of light - 11,000 times a second in each direction around the tunnel.
Initial signs are very good, physicists told a news conference. The beam is of superb quality, with the protons tightly packed into hairlike lines and guided by some 1,600 superconducting magnets - 50ft long - operating at temperatures colder than outer space for maximum electrical efficiency.
So far the machine is operating at 450 billion electron volts of energy, which is relatively low compared with its design capability of more than 14 times that.
It soon will overtake the world's current most powerful accelerator, the Tevatron at Fermilab outside Chicago, which operates at 1 trillion electron volts, or TeV.
Myers said the CERN collider should be ramped up to 1.2 TeV by Christmas. CERN might decide to make the first collisions at the current low energy or at 1.2 TeV, but that will be more for calibration purposes than for making scientific discoveries, he said.
Physicists said the discoveries could begin in the first half of next year when the collider reaches 3.5 TeV. CERN is hoping to have the first collisions at that energy in January or early February, said Gillies.
"That would really mark the start of the research program," he said.
Physicist Steve Myers said the collider may even go up to 5 TeV before the end of 2010.
Tejinder S. Virdee, a physicist from London's Imperial College who represents more than 2,000 scientists on CMS, another of the experiments with its own detectors at CERN, said it could take several years before the collider discovers the elusive Higgs boson, a particle that theoretically gives mass to other subatomic particles, and thus everything in the universe.
That is because the Higgs boson is believed to be hard to see and needs powerful energy to be revealed, Virdee said. "This is going to take a few years," he said.
Director-general Heuer said CERN was being as cautious as a driver would be with the first production model of a new car.
'We'll never accelerate this the first time with a kick-start to its maximum velocity," he said.
Once it is tested out, he added, "we can open windows into new physics and that could happen already next year. It depends on how kind nature is to us.'

world's first 'space station of the sea'
One giant leap for ocean exploration... what the world's first 'space station of the sea' will look like
By Daily Mail Reporter
Last updated at 12:26 AM on 29th November 2009
Comments (40) Add to My Stories It looks more like the Starship Enterprise sinking in the sea - but this huge vertical vessel could be the future of ocean exploration.
Called the SeaOrbiter, the huge 51m (167ft) structure is set to be the world's first vertical ship allowing man a revolutionary view of life below the surface.
Although currently only a prototype its inventor Jacques Rougerie thinks his international oceanographic station will soon be setting sail.

(to see pics of future design)
Mr Rougerie wants the ship to be a space station for the sea giving scientists an insight into the little-known world under the sea.
'At the moment, they [oceanographers] can dive only for short periods before they have to be brought back to the surface. It is as though they were taken to study the Amazon jungle and then helicoptered away again after an hour,' Mr Rougerie told The Times.
'SeaOrbiter will provide a permanent mobile presence with a window to what is under the surface of the sea.”
The architect, whose home and office are houseboats, wants to launch half a dozen of the vessels.
At the moment he says he has half the €35million (£32million) that it will cost to build the first one, and is confident of finding the rest.
The SeaOrbiter would also be a useful tool for studying the link between global warming and the oceans.
Mr Rougerie, 64, said: 'It’s only in the last 50 years that we have found out that there are seasons under water, with plants flowering, with deserts, forests and an intense life.
'The food and medicines of the future will come from the ocean. We’re now starting to realise that oceans have a major role in the fragile equilibrium of our planet.'
When it does first set sail, there will be six crew members, six scientists and six more people on board - these may be astronauts training in extreme conditions or doctors studying submarine human behaviour.
The SeaOrbiter will drift silently across the ocean - navigation tools, communications equipment and a lookout deck will rise above the surface of the sea.
Under the water level, there will be a pressurised deck for divers to undertake daily missions over a period of months.
'There will be a gym, because it’s very important to practise sport, entertainment with a video player above each bunk, and nice food. I’ll do the cooking myself and I’m a good cook,' Mr Rougerie added.
The ship's anti-collision system is based on the one used by the international space station.
Mr Rougerie is confident that the ship will be built. 'A year ago, it was 50-50,' he said. 'Now I would say it’s 90 per cent certain.'
The project was mentioned by President Sarkozy in a keynote speech this summer and has won the backing of companies such as DCNS, the shipbuilder, and Thalès, the defence electronics group.

Comments (25) Add to My Stories Aliens are already among us on Earth, say Bulgarian government scientists who claim they are in contact with them.
Researchers for the country's Space Research Institute said they are currently working on deciphering a complex set of symbols sent to them.
They claim the aliens are in the process of answering 30 questions posed to them by the Bulgarians.

Lachezar Filipov, deputy director of the Space Research Institute of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, confirmed the research was under way.
In all, his team are analysing 150 crop circles from around the world which they believe answer questions beamed into outer space.
Mr Filipov said: 'Aliens are currently all around us, and are watching us all the time.
'They are not hostile towards us, rather, they want to help us but we have not grown enough in order to establish direct contact with them.'
Mr Filipov added that even the seat of the Catholic church, the Vatican, had agreed that aliens existed.
In his words, the humans are not going to be able to establish contact with the extraterrestrials through radio waves but through the power of thought.
He told the novinite newspaper: 'The human race was certainly going to have direct contact with the aliens in the next 10 to 15 years.
'Extraterrestrials are critical of the people's amoral behavior referring to the humans' interference in nature's processes.'
Filipov's team is reported to be analysing crop circles which appeared around the globe in the past year.
The publication of the BAS researchers report concerning communicating with aliens comes in the midst of a controversy over the role, feasibility, and reform of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.
Last week it lead to a heated debate between Bulgaria's Finance Minister, Simeon Djankov, and President Georgi Parvanov.

Fossils of Martian bugs found on meteorite
Fossils of Martian bugs found on meteorite that landed on Earth 13,000 years ago

New evidence has made it more likely that remnants of Martian microbes were transported to Earth in a meteorite, it was revealed today.
A study by scientists from the American space agency Nasa has found chemical signatures in the rock strongly associated with life.
The discovery strengthens the case for believing that worm-like structures in the meteorite are 'microfossils' of ancient Martian bugs.

Sceptics have pointed out that similar-shaped structures could be formed from non-biological processes.
Another unanswered question is whether the microfossils were the result of contamination by Earthly bacteria. This was originally ruled out by Nasa but has raised doubts in the minds of other experts.
The meteorite, catalogued as Allen Hills (ALH) 84001, crashed onto the frozen wastes of Antarctica 13,000 years ago and was recovered in 1984.
Scientists believe the rock was blasted off the surface of Mars by an asteroid or comet, reaching Earth after floating through space for around 16 million years.
It would have formed part of the planet's crust at a time billions of years ago when many experts believe water flowed on the surface of Mars, and conditions were suitable for life.
In 1996 Nasa and the White House made the explosive announcement that the rock contained traces of Martian bugs.
Photographs were released showing elongated segmented objects that appeared strikingly lifelike.
However, the excitement did not last long. Other scientists questioned whether the meteorite samples were contaminated. They also argued that heat generated when the rock was blasted into space may have created mineral structures that could be mistaken for microfossils.
The new study was conducted using advanced high resolution electron microscope techniques which were not available 13 years ago.
News of the findings, expected to be released soon by Nasa, was leaked to the space news website Spaceflight Now and picked up today by the Sun newspaper.
The research was led by Dr Kathie Thomas-Keprta and members of the original team at the Johnson Space Centre in Houston, Texas, that claimed to have found evidence of life in the meteorite.
It focused on a more detailed analysis of magnetite crystals - tiny magnetic particles - and carbonate discs within the rock.
Certain bacteria on Earth are known to contain magnetite crystals, which they are believed to use as tiny compasses to help them navigate.
The crystals form unusual shapes when associated with bacteria which can be seen in ALH 84001, it is claimed.
In addition the scientists say the chemical purity of the features they studied points to biology rather than geology, and a possible interaction with water.
Dr Dennis Bazylinski, from the University of Nevada at Las Vegas, who reviewed the findings submitted for publication in the journal of the Geochemical and Meteoritic Society, told Spaceflight Now: 'I think the paper is really excellent. I work on magnetic bacteria, and one indication there was life on ancient Mars are these particular magnetite crystals in the meteorite that look like they came out of magnetic bacteria.
'At first, I thought there might have been an error. I have no doubt about that now. I know there is no error.
'The big question is can these things be reliable magneto fossils, and that is a matter of debate. But it turns out that the magnetic bacteria make some very unique shapes of magnetite crystals. And one of the organisms we work with on Earth makes particles that look virtually identical to what we see from Mars in the meteorite.'
Spaceflight Now said the data provided "a powerful new case" for believing the meteorite carried traces of extraterrestrial life, according to its sources.
The report added: 'Although not a smoking gun, the new findings considerably strengthen the Mars life arguments that have been hotly and passionately debated for a decade, given that the discovery of life on Mars is the Holy Grail of science.'

Meat grown in laboratory in world first
Scientists have managed to grow a form of meat in a laboratory for the first time, according to reports.
Published: 9:10AM GMT 29 Nov 2009
Researchers in the Netherlands created what was described as soggy pork and are now investigating ways to improve the muscle tissue in the hope that people will one day want to eat it.
No one has yet tasted their produce, but it is believed the artificial meat could be on sale within five years.
Vegetarian groups welcomed the news, saying there was “no ethical objection” if meat was not a piece of a dead animal.
Mark Post, professor of physiology at Eindhoven University, told The Sunday Times: “What we have at the moment is rather like wasted muscle tissue. We need to find ways of improving it by training it and stretching it, but we will get there.
“This product will be good for the environment and will reduce animal suffering. If it feels and tastes like meat, people will buy it.
“You could take the meat from one animal and create the volume of meat previously provided by a million animals.”
The scientists extracted cells from the muscle of a live pig and then put them in a broth of other animal products. The cells then multiplied and created muscle tissue. They believe that it can be turned into something like steak if they can find a way to artificially "exercise" the muscle.
The project is backed by the Dutch government and a sausage maker and comes following the creation of artificial fish fillets from goldfish muscle cells.
Meat produced in a laboratory could reduce greenhouse gas emissions associated with real animals.
Meat and dairy consumption is predicted to double by 2050 and methane from livestock is said to currently produce about 18 per cent of the world’s greenhouse gases.
Animal rights group Peta said: “As far as we’re concerned, if meat is no longer a piece of a dead animal there’s no ethical objection.”
However the Vegetarian Society said: “The big question is how could you guarantee you were eating artificial flesh rather than flesh from an animal that had been slaughtered.
“It would be very difficult to label and identify in a way that people would trust.”

Psychic REMOTE VIEWING Twitter
Twitter's psychic experiment
Thousands of people will test their psychic powers this week on Twitter.
31 May 2009.The Guardian
In the first scientific experiment to be conducted via the social messaging service, experts will investigate "remote viewing" - the psychic ability to identify distant locations.
Members of the public will be asked to "tweet" their impressions of a randomly chosen spot in the UK visited by one of the researchers.
Related Articles
Could psychics help diagnose your illness? Then they will vote for which of five photographs on a website shows where the visitor was standing.
The trial will be repeated with visually different locations four times.
If at the end of the experiment the votes correctly identify at least three targets, it will support the existence of extra-sensory perception.
Study leader psychologist Professor Richard Wiseman, from the University of Hertfordshire, who specialises in investigating psychic phenomena, said: "Personally, I'm sceptical, but three hits would be against odds of one in 125, which would be quite impressive."
He hopes as many as 10,000 people will take part in the research, being conducted in collaboration with New Scientist magazine.
Prof Wiseman will travel to each target location and send a message to thousands of participants to "tweet" their thoughts about his surroundings.
Twenty minutes after sending this message he will transmit another containing a website address on which participants can view photographs of the actual location and four decoys. They will then cast their votes.
"I have staged several mass participation studies over the years, but this is the first to use Twitter," said Prof Wiseman.
"The instant nature of tweets allows thousands of people to take part in real time, making it perfect for an extra-sensory perception experiment.
"If the effect does exist then having so many people participate will help detect it."
Prof Wiseman is not the first scientist to investigate remote viewing.
At the height of the Cold War in the 1970s, the CIA spent $20 million (£12.5 million) conducting remote viewing experiments in a real-life case of the "X-files".
The "Stargate Project" was aimed at conducting "psychic spying" missions against the Soviet Union.
"The Russians were doing the same thing, and there was evidence from laboratory studies that suggested there might be something going on," said Prof Wiseman. "The CIA just thought it was worth a try and ran the programme for about 10 years."
Remote viewing has been linked to astral projection and telepathy, but no-one knows how it might work.
Unlike the CIA, Prof Wiseman will be looking for a group effect rather than individual ability.
This is a phenomenon known as "the wisdom of the crowds".
"If you have a jar full of jellybeans and you want to know many are in it, you get the most accurate estimate by averaging a number of different people's estimates," said Prof Wiseman.
The results of the experiment should be known on Friday.
Sumit Paul-Choudhury, online editor at New Scientist, said: "There have been mass participation experiments since the start of mass communication and this is the next step.
"If we find some sort of effect then we can get into speculating about how it works."

The Collider in Switzerland
The Collider, the Particle and a Theory About Fate
From The New York Times:
SUICIDE MISSION? The core of the superconducting solenoid magnet at the Large Hadron Collider in Switzerland.
By DENNIS OVERBYE
Published: October 12, 2009
More than a year after an explosion of sparks, soot and frigid helium shut it down, the world’s biggest and most expensive physics experiment, known as the Large Hadron Collider, is poised to start up again. In December, if all goes well, protons will start smashing together in an underground racetrack outside Geneva in a search for forces and particles that reigned during the first trillionth of a second of the Big Bang.
Then it will be time to test one of the most bizarre and revolutionary theories in science. I’m not talking about extra dimensions of space-time, dark matter or even black holes that eat the Earth. No, I’m talking about the notion that the troubled collider is being sabotaged by its own future. A pair of otherwise distinguished physicists have suggested that the hypothesized Higgs boson, which physicists hope to produce with the collider, might be so abhorrent to nature that its creation would ripple backward through time and stop the collider before it could make one, like a time traveler who goes back in time to kill his grandfather.
Holger Bech Nielsen, of the Niels Bohr Institute in Copenhagen, and Masao Ninomiya of the Yukawa Institute for Theoretical Physics in Kyoto, Japan, put this idea forward in a series of papers with titles like “Test of Effect From Future in Large Hadron Collider: a Proposal” and “Search for Future Influence From LHC,” posted on the physics Web site arXiv.org in the last year and a half.
According to the so-called Standard Model that rules almost all physics, the Higgs is responsible for imbuing other elementary particles with mass.
“It must be our prediction that all Higgs producing machines shall have bad luck,” Dr. Nielsen said in an e-mail message. In an unpublished essay, Dr. Nielson said of the theory, “Well, one could even almost say that we have a model for God.” It is their guess, he went on, “that He rather hates Higgs particles, and attempts to avoid them.”
This malign influence from the future, they argue, could explain why the United States Superconducting Supercollider, also designed to find the Higgs, was canceled in 1993 after billions of dollars had already been spent, an event so unlikely that Dr. Nielsen calls it an “anti-miracle.”
You might think that the appearance of this theory is further proof that people have had ample time — perhaps too much time — to think about what will come out of the collider, which has been 15 years and $9 billion in the making.
The collider was built by CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, to accelerate protons to energies of seven trillion electron volts around an 18-mile underground racetrack and then crash them together into primordial fireballs.
For the record, as of the middle of September, CERN engineers hope to begin to collide protons at the so-called injection energy of 450 billion electron volts in December and then ramp up the energy until the protons have 3.5 trillion electron volts of energy apiece and then, after a short Christmas break, real physics can begin.
Maybe.
Dr. Nielsen and Dr. Ninomiya started laying out their case for doom in the spring of 2008. It was later that fall, of course, after the CERN collider was turned on, that a connection between two magnets vaporized, shutting down the collider for more than a year.
Dr. Nielsen called that “a funny thing that could make us to believe in the theory of ours.”
He agreed that skepticism would be in order. After all, most big science projects, including the Hubble Space Telescope, have gone through a period of seeming jinxed. At CERN, the beat goes on: Last weekend the French police arrested a particle physicist who works on one of the collider experiments, on suspicion of conspiracy with a North African wing of Al Qaeda.
Dr. Nielsen and Dr. Ninomiya have proposed a kind of test: that CERN engage in a game of chance, a “card-drawing” exercise using perhaps a random-number generator, in order to discern bad luck from the future. If the outcome was sufficiently unlikely, say drawing the one spade in a deck with 100 million hearts, the machine would either not run at all, or only at low energies unlikely to find the Higgs.
Sure, it’s crazy, and CERN should not and is not about to mortgage its investment to a coin toss. The theory was greeted on some blogs with comparisons to Harry Potter. But craziness has a fine history in a physics that talks routinely about cats being dead and alive at the same time and about anti-gravity puffing out the universe.
As Niels Bohr, Dr. Nielsen’s late countryman and one of the founders of quantum theory, once told a colleague: “We are all agreed that your theory is crazy. The question that divides us is whether it is crazy enough to have a chance of being correct.”
Dr. Nielsen is well-qualified in this tradition. He is known in physics as one of the founders of string theory and a deep and original thinker, “one of those extremely smart people that is willing to chase crazy ideas pretty far,” in the words of Sean Carroll, a Caltech physicist and author of a coming book about time, “From Eternity to Here.”
Another of Dr. Nielsen’s projects is an effort to show how the universe as we know it, with all its apparent regularity, could arise from pure randomness, a subject he calls “random dynamics.”
Dr. Nielsen admits that he and Dr. Ninomiya’s new theory smacks of time travel, a longtime interest, which has become a respectable research subject in recent years. While it is a paradox to go back in time and kill your grandfather, physicists agree there is no paradox if you go back in time and save him from being hit by a bus. In the case of the Higgs and the collider, it is as if something is going back in time to keep the universe from being hit by a bus. Although just why the Higgs would be a catastrophe is not clear. If we knew, presumably, we wouldn’t be trying to make one.
We always assume that the past influences the future. But that is not necessarily true in the physics of Newton or Einstein. According to physicists, all you really need to know, mathematically, to describe what happens to an apple or the 100 billion galaxies of the universe over all time are the laws that describe how things change and a statement of where things start. The latter are the so-called boundary conditions — the apple five feet over your head, or the Big Bang.
The equations work just as well, Dr. Nielsen and others point out, if the boundary conditions specify a condition in the future (the apple on your head) instead of in the past, as long as the fundamental laws of physics are reversible, which most physicists believe they are.
“For those of us who believe in physics,” Einstein once wrote to a friend, “this separation between past, present and future is only an illusion.”
In Kurt Vonnegut’s novel “Sirens of Titan,” all of human history turns out to be reduced to delivering a piece of metal roughly the size and shape of a beer-can opener to an alien marooned on Saturn’s moon so he can repair his spaceship and go home.
Whether the collider has such a noble or humble fate — or any fate at all — remains to be seen. As a Red Sox fan my entire adult life, I feel I know something about jinxes.

IF IT'S NOT ALREADY A RULE OF THUMB for judging secret Pentagon projects, maybe it should be: If the name is astral, the premise is spacy. First Star Wars. Now Star Gate. That is the real code name (not the postscandal tabloid headline) of a secret program that spent $20 million in the past 10 years to employ psychics in pursuit of the unknown.
What the Pentagon's ultra-secret Defense Intelligence Agency hoped it might get from the paranormal was a real advantage in the world of military intelligence. What it often got instead were tidbits of the kind offered to them by one psychic in the 1981 kidnapping of an American general, James Dozier, in Italy. Dozier, the psychic told his Pentagon employers, was being held in a stone house with a red roof.
The fact that this description applies to a good portion of the houses in Italy did not prevent the Pentagon from regularly consulting crystal-ball gazers. Until last week, that is, when the CIA (which spent $750,000 on psychic research from 1972 to 1977) determined that the program was a waste of money and moved to shut it down. Congress had ordered the agency to take over Star Gate last year and conduct a study of its effectiveness. "There's no documented evidence it had any value to the intelligence community," says David Goslin, of the American Institute for Research, which the CIA hired to do the study. So the three full-time psychics still operating on a $500,000-a-year budget out of Fort Meade, Maryland, will soon close up shop.
At least a few powerful Senators on the Appropriations Committee will miss them. Senators Daniel Inouye and Robert Byrd, intrigued by stories of psychic successes, pushed hard during many years to keep Star Gate going. Tales of the effectiveness of psychics as spies have long been circulated. dia credited psychics with creating accurate pictures of Soviet submarine construction hidden from U.S. spy satellites, and a 1993 Pentagon report said psychics had correctly drawn 20 tunnels being built in North Korea near the demilitarized zone. "I'd close my eyes and clear everything from my mind," explains Joe McMoneagle, a Pentagon psychic from 1978 to 1984 who claims to have predicted that Dozier was being held in Padua. "Then I'd try to imagine where the person was and sketch it on a piece of paper."
Sketches were not always on target. To no avail, one set of Pentagon planners consulted psychics to pinpoint where Colonel Muammar Gaddafi was staying before U.S. warplanes attacked Libya in 1986. Another intelligence unit asked psychics to picture where an agent suspected of being a double stashed the money he made spying for the other side. (They could not say.) "Sometimes it seems that these people are right on," says Jessica Utts, a statistician at the University of California at Davis who contributed to the CIA study. "But nobody knows when those times come."
Actually, the study came up with an estimate: Star Gate psychics got it right only about 25% of the time. Typically, their reports included "a large amount of irrelevant, often erroneous information," the study said. And when the reports did seem on target, they were "vague and general in nature."
The CIA itself experienced the problem--and not just during the five years it dabbled in parapsychology. Even after the agency abandoned its psychic program in 1977, CIA officers visited psychics on occasion. According to CIA documents that TIME has obtained, two agency officers went to Alexandria, Virginia, in May 1981 and asked a psychic to locate a group of POWs on a map of Laos. She closed her eyes, meditated, then placed her hand on the map near a village called Nhommarath and announced that the men were scattered there in small groups. "They've been brainwashed to forget they are Americans," she said. The CIA men smiled and paid her $80. A reconnaissance team was already headed to Nhommarath, where satellite photos had shown there might be a prison camp. The agents were just looking for reassurance. No POWs were ever found.
Subtle tricks may have increased the psychics' batting average. The CIA investigators suspected that the psychics may have been subconsciously coaxed to the correct targets by their handlers. Many were former military intelligence officers whose mental pictures of far-off sites may have been informed by experience. The CIA study also found evidence that the handlers sometimes embellished what the psychics saw. "Folks want to believe that the paranormal is for real," says Martin Gardner, one of the founders of the Committee for the Scientific Investigation of Claims of the Paranormal. And at least one Senator--Claiborne Pell, 77, of Rhode Island--will say it for the record: "If the CIA is not interested, that's their business. I am convinced that we should continue the research." Thanks to his kind of faith in the extrasensory, psychics can probably count on making a living even now that the Pentagon contract will soon disappear.

3 I call to the LORD, who is worthy of praise,
and I am saved from my enemies.
From Mariah Careys inspiring song:
A broken man without a home
Desperate and so alone
A victim of society
No one really wants to see
Some of us don't even wonder
Some of us don't even care
Couldn't we just help each other
Isn't there enough to share
Chorus:
There's got to be a way
To connect this world today
Come together to relieve the pain
There's got to be a way
To unite this human race
And together we'll bring on a change
In another land they still believe
Color grants supremacy
I don't understand
How there can be
Regulated bigotry
Some of us don't even wonder
Some of us don't even care
Couldn't we accept each other
Can't we make ourselves aware
Chorus
And maybe then the future will be a time
Without war, destitution and sorrow
And hungry children
Won't have to die
If we work together today
We'll save tomorrow
Some of us don't even wonder
Some of us don't even care
Couldn't we just love each other
Isn't there enough to share
Conclusion:
Theres got to be a way!
JESUS HAS MADE THE WAY!!!
Amen! Enjoy the Glory of Heavens Day today!

The Army's Totally Serious Mind-Control Project
The Army's Totally Serious Mind-Control Project

Soldiers barking orders at each other is so 20th Century. That's why the U.S. Army has just awarded a $4 million contract to begin developing "thought helmets" that would harness silent brain waves for secure communication among troops. Ultimately, the Army hopes the project will "lead to direct mental control of military systems by thought alone."
If this sounds insane, it would have been as recently as a few years ago. But improvements in computing power and a better understanding of how the brain works have scientists busy hunting for the distinctive neural fingerprints that flash through a brain when a person is talking to himself. The Army's initial goal is to capture those brain waves with incredibly sophisticated software that then translates the waves into audible radio messages for other troops in the field. "It'd be radio without a microphone, " says Dr. Elmar Schmeisser, the Army neuroscientist overseeing the program. "Because soldiers are already trained to talk in clean, clear and formulaic ways, it would be a very small step to have them think that way."
B-movie buffs may recall that Clint Eastwood used similar "brain-computer interface" technology in 1982's Firefox, named for the Soviet fighter plane whose weapons were controlled by the pilot's thoughts. (Clint was sent to steal the plane, natch.) Yet it's not as far-fetched as you might think: video gamers are eagerly awaiting a crude commercial version of brain wave technology — a $299 headset from San Francisco-based Emotiv Systems — in summer 2009.
The Army doesn't move quite as fast as gamers though. The military's vastly more sophisticated system may be a decade or two away from reality, let alone implementation. The five-year contract it awarded last month to a coalition of scientists from the University of California at Irvine, Carnegie Mellon University, and the University of Maryland, seeks to "decode the activity in brain networks" so that a soldier could radio commands to one or many comrades by thinking of the message he wanted to relay and who should get it. Initially, the recipients would most likely hear transmissions rendered by a robotic voice via earphones. But scientists eventually hope to deliver a version in which commands are rendered in the speaker's voice and indicate the speaker's distance and direction from the listener.
"Having a soldier gain the ability to communicate without any overt movement would be invaluable both in the battlefield as well as in combat casualty care," the Army said in last year's contract solicitation. "It would provide a revolutionary technology for silent communication and orientation that is inherently immune to external environmental sound and light."
The key challenge will be to develop software able to pinpoint the speech-related brain waves picked up by the 128-sensor array that ultimately will be buried inside a helmet. Those sensors detect the minute electrical charges generated by nerve pathways in the brain when thinking occurs. The sensors will generate an electroencephalogram — a confusing pile of squiggles on a computer screen — that scientists will study to find those vital to communicating. "We think we can train a computer to understand those squiggles to the point that they can read off the commands that your brain is issuing to your mouth and lips," Schmeisser says. Unfortunately, it's not a matter of finding the single right squiggle. "There's no golden neuron that's talking," he says.
Dr. Mike D'Zmura of UC-Irvine, the lead scientist on the project, says his task is akin to finding the right strands on a plate full of pasta. "You need to pick out the relevant pieces of spaghetti," he says, "and sometimes they have to be torn apart and re-attached to others." But with ever-increasing computing power the task can be done in real time, he says. Users also will have to be trained to think loudly. "How do we get a person to think something to themselves in a way that leaves a very strong signal in EEGs that we can read off against the background noise?" D'Zmura asks. Finally, because every person's EEG is different, persons using "thought helmets" will have to be trained so that computers intercepting their unspoken commands recognize each user's unique mental pattern.
Both scientists pre-emptively deny expected charges that they're literally messing with soldiers' minds. "A lot of people interpret wires coming out of the head as some sort of mind reading," D'Zmura sighs. "But there's no way you can get there from here," Schmeisser insists. "Not only do you have to be willing, but since your brain is unique, you have to train the system to read your mind — so it's impossible to do it against someone's will and without their active and sustained cooperation."
And don't overlook potential civilian benefits. "How often have you been annoyed by people screaming into their cell phones?" Schmeisser asks. "What if instead of their Bluetooth earpiece it was a Bluetooth headpiece and their mouth is shut and there's blessed silence all around you?" Sounds like one of those rare slices of the U.S. military budget even pacifists might support.
The widerness will burst into bloom!
The widerness will burst into bloom!
Blistering winds, howling moments of distress & stress? will it ever end?
Barren wilderness, isolated feeling alone, Is God really there?
The satanic hissing of snakes whispers? Will they ever leave?
Impoverished, malnourished soil, unproductive lives? Will they ever change?
Poverty & out of pocket? Will God really take care of my needs?
Bad stuff seem to follow you around? Negative patterns & behaviours crossing your path of destiny? Will you ever be free?
Worry about tommorow? Will anything ever change?
In pain & agonay in soul and Body? Shall i give up hope?
BELOVED!! THERE IS HOPE:
JESUS WILL BANISH THE BARRENESS OF YOUR WILDERNESS!
AND HE WILL REBUKE THE DEVOURER AGAINST YOUR SOUL!
AND HE WILL POUR OUT HEAVENS ABUNDANCE ONTO YOUR WILDERNESS!
YOUR WILDERNES WILL BURST INTO VIBRANT BLOOM!
ITS STARTING, AND EVEN THOUGH YOU CANNOT FEEL IT RIGHT NOW, WE JUST NEED TO HOLD ON AND HAVE A LITTLE MORE FAITH
WE WILL SEE GODS MIRACULOUS EVERYDAY AS WE HAVE DONE!
WE HAVE HAD OUR MANNA AND OUR QUAILS BUT NOW GOOD IS GETTING US READY FOR SOMETHING MORE SPECIAL THAN JUST MEETING OUR DAILY NEEDS:
THE PROMISED LAND IS IN VIEW:
When God called Abraham, he promised blessings through which all the nations would be blessed (Genesis 12:2-3). Included in those blessings is the land promise (Genesis 12:6-7). The promised land is part of the Abrahamic promise.
Amos 3:7:Surely the Sovereign LORD does nothing
without revealing his plan
to his servants the prophets.
We do not have to be afraid about our present condition or circumstances:
Isaiah 44
2 This is what the LORD says—
he who made you, who formed you in the womb,
and who will help you:
Do not be afraid, O Jacob, my servant,
Jeshurun, whom I have chosen.
3 For I will pour water on the thirsty land,
and streams on the dry ground;
I will pour out my Spirit on your offspring,
and my blessing on your descendants.
4 They will spring up like grass in a meadow,
like poplar trees by flowing streams.
Gods plan for the wilderness is:
Isaiah 58
6 "Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen:
to loose the chains of injustice
and untie the cords of the yoke,
to set the oppressed free
and break every yoke?
7 Is it not to share your food with the hungry
and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter—
when you see the naked, to clothe him,
and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?
8 Then your light will break forth like the dawn,
and your healing will quickly appear;
then your righteousness [a] will go before you,
and the glory of the LORD will be your rear guard.
9 Then you will call, and the LORD will answer;
you will cry for help, and he will say: Here am I.
"If you do away with the yoke of oppression,
with the pointing finger and malicious talk,
10 and if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry
and satisfy the needs of the oppressed,
then your light will rise in the darkness,
and your night will become like the noonday.
11 The LORD will guide you always;
he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land
and will strengthen your frame.
You will be like a well-watered garden,
like a spring whose waters never fail.
God cares about the poor & Needy as he does about me & you:
Isaiah 41
17 "The poor and needy search for water,
but there is none;
their tongues are parched with thirst.
But I the LORD will answer them;
I, the God of Israel, will not forsake them.
18 I will make rivers flow on barren heights,
and springs within the valleys.
I will turn the desert into pools of water,
and the parched ground into springs.
19 I will put in the desert
the cedar and the acacia, the myrtle and the olive.
I will set pines in the wasteland,
the fir and the cypress together,
20 so that people may see and know,
may consider and understand,
that the hand of the LORD has done this,
that the Holy One of Israel has created it.
THE WORD OF GOD: THE FINAL SAY:
Isaiah 35
Joy of the Redeemed
1 The desert and the parched land will be glad;
the wilderness will rejoice and blossom.
Like the crocus, 2 it will burst into bloom;
it will rejoice greatly and shout for joy.
The glory of Lebanon will be given to it,
the splendor of Carmel and Sharon;
they will see the glory of the LORD,
the splendor of our God.
3 Strengthen the feeble hands,
steady the knees that give way;
4 say to those with fearful hearts,
"Be strong, do not fear;
your God will come,
he will come with vengeance;
with divine retribution
he will come to save you."
5 Then will the eyes of the blind be opened
and the ears of the deaf unstopped.
6 Then will the lame leap like a deer,
and the mute tongue shout for joy.
Water will gush forth in the wilderness
and streams in the desert.
7 The burning sand will become a pool,
the thirsty ground bubbling springs.
In the haunts where jackals once lay,
grass and reeds and papyrus will grow.
8 And a highway will be there;
it will be called the Way of Holiness.
The unclean will not journey on it;
it will be for those who walk in that Way;
wicked fools will not go about on it. [a]
9 No lion will be there,
nor will any ferocious beast get up on it;
they will not be found there.
But only the redeemed will walk there,
10 and the ransomed of the LORD will return.
They will enter Zion with singing;
everlasting joy will crown their heads.
Gladness and joy will overtake them,
and sorrow and sighing will flee away.
THE PROPHETIC PROOF:
God will pour out His Spirit on you and your wilderness (everything that is barren or impossible in your life) will BURST TRIUMPHANTLY & VIBRANTLY INTO BLOOM!!
THE WILDERNESS IS ABOUT TO BECOME AN OASIS FOR THE SPRITUALLY SEARCHING AND MOST DESPERATE FOR HIS DAY OF GLORY!
HIS GLORY IS COMING!
HIS HOLY SPIRIT IS MOVING!
DRENCH YOUR SOULS BELOVED IN THE WATERS THAT COME FROM THE ROCK?
WHY SPEN MONEY ON WHAT IS NOT BREAD? WHY WASTE TIME ON WHAT DOES NOT SATISFY?
HEAVENS MOST HOLY WATERS ARE NEAR TO BEEING SEEN BY THE WORLDS UNBELIEVERS!

Release me - poetry
Release me
Release me
from this
Divine Entrapment i feel
The wilderness snakes
are becoming too much for me
But this i know:
One day my Knight will come
Flashing His sword
And upon His galiant steed
He shall arise
He shall break forth
and show His Victory
toward all men
towards the poor
And the rich
Towards the sick
& the dying
Towards the Glory of a new day
Divine entrapment
Held in the catacombes
of Time
Time unceasing
Time in the acts of Nine
Time to turn over
Time to heal
Time to see Paradise
Moving on
From Damascus
Babylon & Egypt
Securing our inheritance
In the Promised land
Release me
from Divine discontent
Rescue me
from the prison I am in
Release me for your purposes
For your Glory
Rescue me from these lies
Take me out of the prison
of compromise
Let me see your face
Welcome your embrace
Becoming a new man
Accepting your plan
Restore my sight
so that i may take flight
And see the glory of a new day
From the finest crystal bottle
From the finest Crystal Bottle
From the finest crystal bottle
He collects our tears
Every one of them
Painfully released
From the heart
of hearts
from the history
of suffering...
its all catalogued...
and remembered in His heart...
He sends His angels
to catch our tears
He loves us so much
he has a purpose
for our tears
He collects our tears
as if they are
gold or silver
and riches untold
He cares
He cares enough
to collect our tears
He cares about our emotions
Our Pain
And our torment
But He has a plan
to send his angels
that gather
your tears
He has sent angels today
Just for you
They are on assignment
to help you;
heal your heart
heal your soul
heal your mind
heal you deeply
These angels are the ones
who have been sent...
There is no need
to reject them
or shun thier presence
They will hold you
and Minister to you
Daddies love
Daddies power
His Healing Presence
His Healing Power
His Healing Tears
You will feel His presence today
You will feel His healing touch
Let go of your tears
Don't hold them back
from He who loves you,
Oh so much
can you feel the fear go?
And perfect love come?
Can you feel the presence
of His Holy Angels...
Collecting all your tears

can you feel the fear go?
And perfect love come?
Can you feel the presence
of His Holy Angels...
Collecting all your tears
from the finest crystal bottle.
When God works on our hearts
When God works on our hearts
When God works on our hearts it can be a slow gradual process which we often fight Him all the way if we are to be truthful!
I am sorry to have to admit this but i believe we should still be experiencing amazing miracles. Many believers are just trying to be "good" in their own strength, and i for one are definately guilty of this! We seem to miss the revelation that we are fallen - and fallen from Gods glory - his heart - his true worship & His grace.
To live a holy life we really need Him more than we realise.
When i take Him out of the game plan i commit a whole manner of sins and believe all sorts of devilish lies, and what is the point?
I have prooved in my life that the wages of sin are most definately death and that all my ideas, thoughts, imaginations are the product of fallen man.
I have missed the whole point that Jesus said
“I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you” (John 14:18)
Can you imagine a man so kind as to rescue us from temptation, who lived a pure thought life free from every kind of sin, who did nothing wrong but everything right.
he ate with the vilest people of the day; tax collectors, prostitutes, he healed the poor and the sick and he gave powerful warnings to the rich,to the religious and to those who struggle in their sins.
he did not come to condemn the worlds people but to save them.
how we miss the point so easily:
The point is he has given us a free gift of the Holy Spirit because we have given our lives to Him.
Im sure the more we surrender our lives to Him - the more we will see His power - and the more miracles will be produced in oour lives and in the lives of others. This is why i believe: i have fallen short of Gods glory - His power beyond comprehension and I need to learn to trust Him by giving Him every compartment of my heart, all that is within me must belong to Him, as he has purchased my soul from the Grave (from Hell itself and all the boastful evil spirits & demonic powers)
God has said He will never leave us, so He is right beside us and living IN us.
What glory!
let us rest in His love beloved, for He is the only absolute truth, anything else is a lie, no matter how loud those feelings are, they will just seem to fade away like a flower in the baking sunshine.
Im going to trust Him, I must give Him all my heart and not live as a divided man, i beleive when i live only for Him and forsake everything else to satisfy my needs then I will see the days of miracles returning & manifesting in my life.
It is just a matter of time.

Just to be listened to
Just to be listened to
An open book
Im not so bothered
about the print
or the size of font
just to take
a little time
thats all i want
creativity
an open heart
a willingness
to share
to listen
to be
connected

the beauty of life
is to be felt
by being listened to
the joy
of sharing#
ones heart
to one
who will
listen;
the blessing
the privalege
an open heart brings
sharing the soul
or just to leave
a note
a breifing
a memo
a patch
on lifes fabric
is worth a glance
no more open sores
or the slamming
of broken doors
looks of discust
through the fragmented
mirror of lust
but blessings
in discuise
hidden pathways
for all to see
the glory

The United States Civil Disturbance Plan 55-2
The following information was obtained under the Freedom of Information Act. The original printing was of June 1, 1984. The information herein is UNCLASSIFIED and does not come within the scope of directions governing the protection of information affecting the national security.
It took a little more than three years to obtain a full copy of Operation Garden Plot from the U.S. Government, and was done so under the freedom of information act for unclassified documents. The implications within the full context of this document should make the hair on the back of your head stand on end!!!!!
In this document signed by the Secretary of the Army, is hereby assigned as DOD Executive Agent for civil disturbance control operations. Under Plan 55-2 he is to use airlift and logistical support, in assisting appropriate military commanders in the 50 states, District of Columbia, and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and US possessions and territories, or any political subdivision thereof.
The official name of this project is called "Operation Garden Plot."
Under this plan for the deployment of Operation Garden Plot, the use of CIDCON-1 will be mandatory. This direct support of civil disturbance control operations is to be used by the Army, USAF, Navy, and Marine Corp. with an airlift force to be comprised of MAC Organic Airlift Resources, airlift capable aircraft of all other USAF major commands, and all other aerial reconnaissance and Airborne Psychological Operations. This is to include control communications systems, aeromedical evacuation, helicopter and Weather Support Systems.
If any civil disturbance by a resistance group, religious organization, or other persons considered to be non-conformist takes place, under Appendix 3 to Annex B of Plan 55-2 hereby gives all Federal forces total power over the situation if local and state authorities cannot put down said dissenters.
Annex A, section B of Operation Garden Plot defines tax protesters, militia groups, religious cults, and general anti-government dissenters as Disruptive Elements. This calls for the deadly force to be used against any extremist or dissident perpetrating any and all forms of civil disorder.
Under section D, a Presidential Executive Order will authorize and direct the Secretary of Defense to use the Armed Forces of the United States to restore order.
2 TAB A APPENDIX 1 TO ANNEX S USAF CIVIL DISTURBANCE PLAN 55-2 EXHIBIT POR:SGH, JCS Pub 6, Vol 5, AFR 160-5 hereby provides for America's military and the National Guard State Partnership Program to join with United Nations personal in said operations. This links selected U.S. National Guard units with the Defense Ministries of "Partnership For Peace." This was done in an effort to provide military support to civil authorities in response to civil emergencies.
Under Presidential Decision Directive No. 25, this program serves to cement people to relationships between the citizens of the United States, and the global military of the UN establishments of the emerging democracies of Central and Eastern European countries. This puts all of our National Guardsmen under the direct jurisdiction of the United Nations.
Section 3:
This plan could be implemented under any of the following situation:
(1) Spontaneous civil disturbances which involve large numbers of persons and/or which continue for a considerable period of time, may exceed the capacity of local civil law enforcement agencies to suppress. Although this type of activity can arise without warning as a result of sudden, unanticipated popular unrest (past riots), it may also result from more prolonged dissidence.
This would most likely be an outgrowth of serious social, political or economic issues which divide segments of the American population. Such factionalism could manifest itself through repeated demonstrations, protest marches and other forms of legitimate opposition but which would have the potential for erupting into spontaneous violence with little or no warning.
(2) Planned acts of violence or civil disobedience which, through arising from the same causes as (1) above, are seized upon by a dedicated group of dissidents who plan and incite purposeful acts designed to disrupt social order.
This may occur either because leaders of protest organizations intentionally induce their followers to perpetrate violent acts, or because a group of militants infiltrates an otherwise peaceful protest and seeks to divert it from its peaceful course.
Subsection C: (2) Environmental satellite products will be continue to be available. (d) Responsibilities. Meteorological support to civil disturbance operations will be arranged or provided by AWS wings.
The 7th. Weather Wing (7WW) is responsible for providing / arranging support for Military Airlift Command (MAC) airlift operations. The 5th Weather Wing (5WW) is responsible for supporting the United States Army Forces Command.
(3) SITUATION. Civil disturbance may threaten or erupt at any time in the CONUS and grow to such proportions as to require the use the Federal military forces to bring the situation under control.
A flexible weather support system is required under control. A flexible weather support system is required to support the many and varied options of this Plan.

we have an Anchor!
We have an Anchor!
9th Nov 2009
What an amazing revelation to discover we have an anchor (a weapon) that will keep our souls safe in the Saviours Love. How amazing is Jesus love for mankind?
Heb 6:19-20 We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, where Jesus, who went before us, has entered on our behalf.
Hope is the anchor of our soul! Without this Hope Anchor we will get very sick.
Prov 13:12 Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.
I watched a programme last night on the tallest people in the world on the Discovery channel. There was a lady who was well over 2meters tall, but she was dying, she had lost hope until another Giant man (officially the tallest man in the world) came to visit her from China and he spoke positive life giving words over her. He spoke health and a unique life into her as she was dying, but then something happened, she smiled in the first time in years. She received Hope. The visit was short because she was tired, but as soon as the man went away, 20days later she was released from hospital and went back home. She was still bed ridden but she had received from a friend she never knew she had - hope for soul. I am convinced this anchor gave her health & I pray a prosperous future. Hope is the Anchor for our souls.
So many things in the world are fragile and insecure and yet Christ has given us this free gift of an Anchor - Hope everlasting, which we can prayerfully take into deep prayer & intercession and not be harmed by the enemy because our hope is in Jesus the Rock & our Deliverer.
How amazing is this? What is that dark doubt I hear? "You cannot take on the forces of evil through prayer!" Oh yes we can beloved! Through the name, the blood and in the power of Jesus Christ living in us - we can take on the enemy victoriously!
That is why God’s promise to us is always "Yes & Amen!"
We have an anchor already! It is hidden in Christ, and found in the very depths of His Love. At the bottom of the oceans of Glory, deep In the rock is our anchor of HOPE, firm and secure.
Nothing can move us when we understand this revelation !! Nothing can stop us from pursuing destiny!! We are rooted in Glory!
Will Your Anchor Hold?
1887 Hymn. James Kirkpatrick (1838-1921).
Will your anchor hold in the storms of life, When the clouds unfold their wings of strife? When the strong tides lift, and the cables strain, Will your anchor drift, or firm remain? Chorus: We have an anchor that keeps the soul steadfast and sure while the billows roll; Fastened to the rock which cannot move, Grounded firm and deep in the Saviour's love. Will your anchor hold in the straits of fear, When the breakers roar and the reef is near? While the surges rage, and the wild winds blow, Shall the angry waves then your bark overflow? Chorus Will your anchor hold in the floods of death, When the waters cold chill your latest breath? On the rising tide you can never fail, While your anchor holds within the veil. Chorus Will your eyes behold through the morning light The city of gold and the harbour bright? Will you anchor safe by the heavenly shore, When life's storms are past for evermore?
Comfort & Hope
Christ longs to comfort us in the storms of life. He longs for us to pour out our hearts to Him, even in our time of distress and great trouble> It is when we need Him most that we must cry out to Him and He will comfort us from within Heaven’s veil.
The Dove of the Holy Spirit longs to rest on us and comfort us through the storms of life.
He longs for us to accept His power & comfort while we suffer.
2 Cor 1:3-7
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows. If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer. And our hope for you is firm, because we know that just as you share in our sufferings, so also you share in our comfort.
"For I consider that the sufferings of this present age are not worthy to be compared with the glory to be revealed in us."
Romans 8:18
Why Does God Allow Suffering for Believers?
The Moral Effect … It changes us!
The Intimacy Effect …It draws us closer to Christ!
The Sovereignty Effect … It teaches us to trust Him!
The Missions Effect … It draws others to Christ!
The Glory Effect …It draws us to heaven!
The Sovereignty Effect:
Suffering teaches us to trust God!
The Promise of God (Romans 8:28)
The Process of God (Romans 8:29)
The Love of God (Romans 8:38-39)
The Missions Effect:
Colossians 1:24
Suffering draws others to Christ!
Christ in you, the hope of glory?
The Glory Effect:
2 Corinthians 4:16-18
Suffering draws us to heaven!
Our suffering is … momentary.
Our suffering is … light.
Our suffering is producing in us LIFE
Brief summary:
God in us is the God of all compassion & comfort.
God has called us to minister from His Place of comfort.
God permits suffering to happen in our lives because it is the Doorway (Portal) to having deep, intimate fellowship with the Comforter.
Comfort heals our Souls.
Comfort delivers us. Comfort stops temptations demonic power/ strongholds over a believers life.
Comfort comes from suffering with Christ.
Remember we are suffering with Him, we are not away from Him. This does not mean we are a rejected people, but Christ’s Beloved.
Comfort gives us Hope
Comfort gives us life & health
Comfort opens to the doorway in the Spirit (Portal) to comfort anyone in trouble or in need.
We need the Comforter!
Christ’s comfort stops the "orphan spirit" gaining a foothold over us.
Christ’s comfort is eternal.
Christ’s comfort is not earned but freely given.
Comfort is a vital key for someone’s salvation.
God is gentle and He longs to comfort us when we feel at our very worst.
God’s comfort & compassion through us will win the nations back to Him overnight!
The ministry of the Comfort of the Holy Spirit is a beautiful & Sacred thing.
Suffering > Comfort >Comfort to others = Glory
Suffering & the Glory of God go together.
I see Comfort & Hope go together. Angels minister in pairs. The disciples went out two by two, so did the animals in the Ark. May God be glorified even if we have to suffer!
Let us yield to His parental Comfort. May His holiness abound in us and grant us fresh revelation through His Word - the greater mighty power of us who believe!
May we be stirred greater at this hour beloved. Stirred not by the storms of strife but by the Giver of Life! Lt us receive His Word to us today in abundance!
May we accept the revelation of the unmovable, unshakable anchor --deliverance for our souls & Hope for the nations.
In Jesus name. Amen!

Amen!
Romans 8:18
